do anyone really need pre-package food?

    yes, some do.
some people too busy for home cook meals. some people have disabilities that mean not able prepare, cut, or peel food. they still deserve eat. most people not have full time care givers that can drop everything to make exactly what they want - they have care needs too.
pre-package food give disabled people ability eat good full meals that not take much time and effort. would be nice if no plastic involve in this, of course, but we can not remove these as choice.

do anyone really need plastic straws?

    yes, some do.
reusable straws often come in materials that not safe for everyone, or they can not do things that disabled person might need.
