what is domain?

many in our court, and indeed some other earth faery out there, have domains.
we tend toward nature embodiments, so domain what embody and protect. domain can be single organism or idea, or whole area. some faery share domain, others alone.
domain more than something that enjoy. can not take from identity and still have same faery. even if must move from original domain, will always be in heart and soul.

what would be some domains? of course, these not only ones. can find faery with more than one, or those who share same one.

  • flowers - in our experience, often one or two faery per patch, not each flower
  • trees - just as trees may network and share roots, some tree faery share mind almost, two halves in same whole
  • mushrooms
  • shrubs and bushes
• places
  • caves - stone, crystals, minerals, shadow
  • forests - plant life, shadow and light
  • gardens - plant life
  • really... just about anywhere
• elements
  • water - swamp, river, pond, any body of water
  • earth - rocks, dirt, wood
  • fire
  • air - wind
  • shadow
  • light
• seasons
  • spring - flowers
  • summer
  • autumn
  • winter - snow, ice, death
• other worldly things
• birth and growth
• death and decay - fungi, rot cycle, hunt
• weather - fog, rain, snow
• celestial - stars, moon, sun

already can see some domains overlap with others.

how we look, and so our "type", often match with domain. can show in different ways even so. one faery might be wolf, when another from same forest is elf.
yet personally we never see tree faery that not look so, with root claws and branches for horns.

what give?

again must stress this not universal. faery who not from earth, or not as much nature and domains, will have different answers.

when new life grow, when organisms or environments thrive, that put heart out in world. with enough both heart and glamour, new faery wake for first time.
everything that put this heart out can, then, influence who become. one might be animal from that habitat to embody place. plant faery often look like plant that come from, with those leaves for hair or mushroom on head as if wear hat.

in environments where animals would burrow, so do those faery: goblins, rabbits, mice. where find many insects, may also find small fairies and pixies.
just as domains may overlap, so may these types, or have multiple.

death?

if wonder whether destroy domain original source means any faery connect die... to not say too much: possible, but not guarantee.
this do devastate, but like humans, many able move to new home.
